What is a rar file?
-A rar file is a compressed archived file, similar to zip files. I rar'ed the newer Quicktime videos so they are smaller to download. If you need the utilities to extract the rar files, please visit the
Free Content page and locate WinRAR for PC or UnRarX for Mac.
Do you do any personal animation training?
-No sorry. I just don't have enough free time to devote myself to that.
Can you give me any tips on starting out in computer animation?
-Yeah, that's easy. Just buy my videos. Haha, just kidding. There's tons of training material available today on the web. You shouldn't have trouble finding tutorials. But here are some words of advice: if you are serious about learning cg animation, then you must have the attitude and will to never stop learning. There is so much you need to know to be a good animator and cg artist, that if you ever stop learning, you will fall behind. Animation is a lot like sports. You must constantly get better, and you must constantly want to get better. That's the mentality you must have.
Why are your videos so cheap?
-Uh, you want me to charge more?
Who are you and why should we learn from you?
-Just because... Huh, you need more reason than that? Man, tough crowd. Okay let me think. Well, I've done what only a handful of people in the world have done. I created an 85 minute animated feature film on my own. Usually it takes hundreds of people to make an animated feature film. I've done it on my own in under 5 years. I've learned a great deal from that experience, and I'm ready to teach a ton.
Not to mention that I've animated on plenty of high caliber films like Transformers 2, Matrix Reloaded, X-men, Percy Jackson. I have 12 years pro experience in the animation industry... Well you did ask.
Is there some sort of DRM? Is it a rental? How long do I get to keep the videos?
-These are just normal quicktime movies. They don't expire unless you delete them or your hard drive dies. So make sure you back them up. They are yours to keep.
Is there a separate site license for schools and universities?
-Yes. These videos are for the individuals who can't afford high priced education. If schools are charging students tens of thousands in tuition and then use my videos in their classes, don't you think that's ripping off the student? Educational institutes require a separate license to use these videos. You must contact me about that. But I prefer that these videos not be used in the classroom at all. These videos are meant for the individual.
Did you go to film school or animation school? How about an art school?
-No. I went to engineering school, but my passion was to be a filmmaker and animator. In a way, my devotion to make it on my own has fueled my passion and desire to this very day. I got this far in my career because I taught myself, not in spite of teaching myself.
Can I get a refund?
-No, sorry. Because of the nature of these products, all sales are final. But if you have any problems downloading or viewing the videos, I'll do my best to remedy any issues.
What are the system requirements to play the videos?
-You must use a pc or mac that can play quicktime videos. Quicktime 7 is required because all videos are encoded in h.264. Screen resolution varies per video, from 640x480 to 1280x800. Be sure your monitor is large enough.
My web browser keeps quitting the download before it finishes. How can I get the full download?
For best compatability, please use Firefox 3 to download from this website. If you still can't manage to download the full video, send me an email from the support page. I'll make sure you get the full file.
Can you burn the videos to a DVD and mail it to me instead of downloading them?
No sorry. Part of the reason why these videos are so cheap is because there is no physical product to ship. Mailing a DVD is not offered at this time.
